2024 Lexus GX Model Review

The Lexus GX is one of the oldest names in the luxury SUV market and one of its most trusted.
Not only do you get a full-size SUV with a 5-star hotel room for a cabin, but you can also drive over anything that mother nature throws at you.
The third generation of the GX is out in the form of the 2024 Lexus GX550. The following is a review of its offerings based on the info available:
Powertrain and Numbers
The Lexus GX 2024 features a 3.4-liter V6 with two turbos that produces 349 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. This makes it more powerful than the previous model which was a V8.
It sends its power output via a ten-speed automatic gearbox to an all-wheel drive system.
As far as towing is concerned, the 2024 GX Premium and Overtrail are the top dogs as they can pull up to 8000 pounds.
They’re followed by the GX Luxury at 6990 pounds and the Luxury+ at 6780 pounds.
We do not have the EPA’s ratings yet but Lexus predicts that this large SUV will achieve up to 17 mpg.

Interior and Technology
The Lexus GX gains a fantastic new interior design that’s very roomy. Consumer Reports states that: “The GX gains a bit in every key dimension, giving it more interior space than before.”
It’s a high-end cabin as you’d expect from a Lexus, built from high-quality materials. Car and Driver says: “Despite the GX’s rugged exterior styling, luxurious environs await you inside.”
The trim levels on the 2024 GX are the following:
- Premium
- Premium+
- Luxury
- Luxury+
- Overtrail
- Overtrail+
The new GX 2024 will be very well-equipped.
Even the base model will come with NuLuxe-trimmed, 8-way power-adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.
You can also expect a large 14-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch instrumentation screen, 10 speakers, ambient lighting, and six USB-C ports.
You can expect a lot of safety tech – automated emergency braking (with pedestrian detection), lane-departure warning (with lane-keeping assist), adaptive cruise control (with lane-centering), and a panoramic view monitor (with multi-terrain view).
Exterior and Driving
The new GX 2024 has a retro-themed boxy body with many modern touches. A stylish catalog of 18- to 22-inch alloys is offered depending on your trim level.
Motor Trend writes that the “distinctive, tech-forward LED lighting signatures help lend the 2024 Lexus GX a distinctly modern appeal,”
The exterior colors available on the 2024 Lexus GX are Eminent White Pearl, Atomic Silver, Nori Green Pearl, Incognito, Nightfall Mica Earth, Caviar and Nebula Gray Pearl.
The GX 2024 currently hasn’t been tested but it is expected to have a solid presence on the road, especially off-tarmac.
Its multi-terrain modes and crawl control system should make trailblazing a lot easier. Those looking for the best experience can opt for the off-road oriented Overtrail models.

Reliability and Warranty
Currently, there are no reliability ratings for the 2024 Lexus GX as it isn’t available for sale yet.
As far as coverage is concerned, Lexus offers a limited warranty of 4 years/50k miles, a powertrain warranty of 6 years/70k miles, and complimentary maintenance for 1 year/10k miles.
Verdict
You can be certain that the 2024 Lexus GX is going to be a success.
This is as it offers all that the GX class is known for – high power, stellar off-roading abilities, superb towing capacity, superb build quality and tech, and lots of sophistication.
Prepare to be even more impressed as Lexus releases more information about it.
